I started practicing as a speech-language pathologist in 2002. My career has been incredibly rewarding and fun. I get to play with kids all day and utilize new toys and old toys (taken from my brother, shhh!) to create an engaging and memorable session. I laugh, I listen, we plan, we talk, we play, and overall, we create lasting relationships and paths towards effective communication.

 

I’ve worked in public school, private school, pediatric hospital, a private clinic, and as a contractor for Jon Peterson Special Needs scholarship. Each location has provided wonderful opportunities. I have had fantastic interactions and collaboration with occupational and physical therapists. Who knew that dancing, singing and smiling could be so infectious? The journey has been paved with so many hours of work, trying and trying again, and figuring it out together. I love it!

 

When I’m not busy having fun with clients, then I am enjoying my own family. My husband and I love spending time with our five children. Whether it's homeschooling, running to sports, hiking, adventuring or playing board games, there is never a dull moment. We also have a small farm of dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and one lazy bearded dragon. (I may or may not have an animal weakness.)
